Fireworks Display in Chba, Japan

One of the most famous fireworks display in Kanto area (around Tokyo) was held today.
Luckily, the event place was quite close to my apartment.
The pic shows hundreds of people waiting for that the display would start.
The special boats called Yakata-bune were on the Edo river.

I've never seen such large amount of people were the riverside!!

Omokage Bridge 2

This photo was also taken from Omokage bridge. The red object in the river is a big carp!

Omokage Bridge

Left Asukayama park and got a tram running near the park. When I saw outside through a window in the tram, it passed a colonnade filled by cherry blossoms. Of course, I got off in a hurry.

The colonnade runs along Kanda river which is a narrow one. There was a bridge called Omokage-bashi over the river. The view from the bridge was amazing! Look at the photo in the right!

Seeing Sakura Again!

Went to Asukayama park in Tokyo to see cherry trees. This park has been famous as one of ideal places to see cherry trees for about 300 years. 300 years ago, Yoshimune Tokugawa, who is one of Japanese great tycoons(shogun), let the commonalty enter the park in the Edo period. The cherry trees are still lively even though it's been a long time since then.

The cherry blossoms seemed in full bloom now.

Sweets with Cherry Flavor

This sweets are called "Sakura-mochi"(Cherry rice cake). This white parts are similar to crepes and it wraps sweet bean paste. The leaves are cherry's and salted. Smells fantastic! Yum-yum.

(Oh, I've been writing about food so much. How greedy!)

Sakura Saku!

There were many people having a party under the cherry trees. Having drinks or snacks, they seemed delightful. They surely enjoyed themselves and me, too.

I love spring the most in four seasons because of this great custom.

Cherry flowers are blooming!

I went to a river side park to see cherry trees. There were about a thousand of trees along Sumida river. Last week the Meteorological Agency announced that cherry blossoms in Tokyo began coming out. Today was the first Sunday after the announcement. Even though it was cloudy, there were lots of people.

Cherry blossom is the Japanese national flower. We Japanese look forward to seeing them blooming every year. That's why every news programmes or newspapers inform when we can enjoy the flowers.

Narita Airport

Went to Narita airport to see airplanes. We can see various kinds of planes here. Therefore, Narita airport is the "Mecca" of Japanese airplane spotters.

Luckily, found a plane of Air Tahiti Nui! Rarely can see it in Japan because it flies three times of a week between Narita and Papeete.

Used to be my everyday's breakfast

I bought these Indonesian noodles Me goreng, which meant fried noodles, as well as Tim Tam today. They used to be my breakfast when I was studying English in New Zealand.

I'll tell ya very important points when we cook Me goreng. First thing is adding an egg. As you can see, an egg is printed on the face of the package. I guess an egg must go with Me goreng in Indonesia! One more point is using the microwave oven after pouring boiling water to soften the noodles more.

If you find this picture in a store, you must buy it! This spicy noodles will attract you a lot and you won't be able to forget the taste!

Ohhhh----! Tim Tam!!

10 days ago I found a chocolate from New Zealand. Today I found a packet of chocolate biscuits from Australia named Tim Tam! Although this biscuits were from Australia, it's quite familiar to me. New Zealand imports them, too.

I think this "Dangerous Liaisons" Tim Tam is very sweet for me. Japanese would prefer a not-too-sweet taste. I loved "Cappuccino" Tim Tam which I haven't found yet in Japan though.

CADBURY CHOCOLATE

It was real luck that I found this chocolate in a supermarket today! I just dropped by the supermarket without any intention.
Then, the nice meeting suddenly came!

This chocolate was made in New Zealand. When I was there, I enjoyed having it very much. The symbolic purple colour wrapper still fascinates me!
